For Once It's Not Belated

Erica and Jolie in Tahoe.jpg

Dear Best Friend, it’s been 2 years in a row
That I have missed your birthday due to being far from home
Once again, I am stuck out here in DC
Missing out on all of your birthday glee

If I were there, I’m sure, we would paint the town red
We would dance all night till our legs were like lead
Alas, my daydreams are to no avail
The best I can do is say, “you’re present’s in the mail.”

On this, the celebration of your 26th year
You deserve a host of things that will make you cheer (and perhaps smidgen of something Queer)
You deserve a parade down Oakland’s streets
You deserve Missy E mixin you your very own beats

You deserve to spend all day in your big comfy bed
With leagues of hot women keeping you happy and fed
Or, you could just spend your whole day with Sophia
She’s funny, smart, cute, and couldn’t be sweeatah

However you spend your birthday this year
Please know I wish I could be there

I miss you too much. Happy Birthday!

Love,

Jolie

Where was that adorable picture taken? Where? And don't they have a law about that sort of thing?

I'll actually be seeing you on Saturday, Erica, and your new place finally. Jacob and I are coming to your party and you can't stop us, so there.

I realized this morning that, despite my bemoaning, I will be missing Erica's birthday next year as well. Unless, of course, she wants to be my date to a wedding in St. Paul, Minnesota!

Whaddya think, Ms. D? Wanna spend your 27th birthday celebrating the heterosexual union of folks you've never met???? C'moooon. I know you wanna!

who are you talking about?

Posted by: erica on October 10, 2004 05:54 PM

Sarah Hall from my cohort is marrying her republican boyfriend. It should be fun watching all of her liberal lesbian friends from Madison interact with his conservative frat friends from Omaha... oh yeah, that's the stuff.

I told John, Sarah's fiancee, that I'm gonna babysit their kids - when they get around to having them - just so I can teach them to say "daddy, aunty Jolie taught us that you're The Man."

John plans to give my children sweater sets for Christmas.

I didn't forget Erica's birthday either so this isn't a belated post. I just haven't visited this site in ages. (My favorite lesbians in the whole wide world were neglecting their posting duties!!!) Anyway, the love I have in my heart for Erica is massive, all encompassing. Sometimes I wish I was a really hot chick so I could rub up against her and feel a little of her magical goodness in all the right places. Alas, it will never happen, but I know that Erica is a true inspiration and one hot piece of ass. Live your life, girl.

Good Lord! That's got to be the best birthday message I've ever read. Will, you should definitely consider working for Hallmark. You'd make bazillions.

Sorry for the lack of posts. We'll try to be better. Mwah!
